Enterprise Agency

The Enterprise Agency is an internal autonomous agency without legal personality. It belongs to the field of Economy, Science and Innovation (EWI). It was created in 2009 by the amalgamation of the Agency Economics and the Flemish Agency for Entrepreneurship (VLAO).

The Enterprise Agency is under the patronage of Minister Kris Peeters, Minister-President of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister for Economy, Foreign Policy, Agriculture and Rural policy.

It is the responsibility of the Agency to conduct economic policies to implement and to represent the operational preparation.

The Enterprise Agency is the focal point of the Flemish Government for entrepreneurs Enterprise Agency

European Regional development Fund (ERDF)

Within the European Union, there are significant differences in of economic and social development. According to the Treaty of the European Union 'Europe' has the task of the economic and social cohesion of the European territory to strengthen. In order to reduce and eventually eliminate this socioeconomic disparities in 1975 the 'European Structural Funds' was created. One of these Structural Funds is the European Regional Development Fund, commonly known as ERDF.

The ERDF subsidizes projects to reduce inequality regions , to increase competitiveness, to create jobs and to strengthen cohesion between the regions. In line with the renewed Lisbon and Gothenburg Strategy, the European Cohesion policy 2007-2013 focuses on the following priorities:

-Make member States, regions and cities more attractive (more accessible, offering a quality service and a great concern for nature and the environment)
-Stimulate innovation, entrepreneurship and the growth of the knowledge of economics by research and development (including on the field of new information and communication technologies)

Flanders in Action – 2020 Pact

ViA (Flanders in Action) is the future project of the Flanders. The goal is to lead ViA Flanders to the top five European regions. Flanders in Action is more than an informal plan. To implement the breakthroughs to ensure launches ViA launches Pact 2020. The Pact of Flanders contains objectives with concrete targets. Ghent University – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine provides academic education and services supporting innovative applied research with veterinary medicine as a central theme. The collaboration between the Faculty of Veterinary and ORSI is realized thanks to the dedication and commitment of Prof. Frank Gasthuys. Vattikuti Foundation

The Foundation has partnered with multispecialty hospitals and institutes who have collaborated with the Foundation to develop independent multispecialty, state-of-the-art institutes within their main campus. The Foundation will establish several such centers across the world for the overall growth of robotic and other innovative minimally invasive surgery as a discipline. In 2010 the Vattikuti Foundation inaugurated its first centers, the Medanta Vattikuti Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery (MVI) in Gurgaon, India along with the European Vattikuti Institute in Aalst, Belgium at OLV Institute.
