Respectful Use of Human Tissue
At Orsi Academy, the respectful and ethical use of human tissue is of utmost importance.
All training activities involving human cadaveric specimens must be conducted with professionalism, respect, and in accordance with applicable legal, ethical, and institutional requirements. All participants and trainers are expected to uphold the highest standards when working with human tissue.
Participant and Trainer Responsibilities
When participating in training activities involving human cadaveric specimens, the following requirements apply:
- Human cadaveric specimens must always be treated with respect and dignity.
- Trainers are required to discuss all training aspects, including the intended approach, target anatomy, and surgical techniques, with Orsi Academy's Process Manager at least two weeks before the scheduled training date.
- Orsi Academy cannot be held responsible for providing a cadaveric specimen that is unsuitable for the intended training if sufficient information has not been provided in advance by the trainer.
- No additional training steps or procedures may be performed on a cadaveric specimen without prior written approval from Orsi Academy's Process Manager.
- Trainers must accurately complete the Procedure Checklist for Cadaver Trainings, which will be available during the training session. All procedures performed must be documented on this form.
- All instruments, needles, blades, and other sharps must be removed from the cadaveric specimen after completion of the training.
All surgical incisions must be appropriately closed upon completion of the training.
Compliance
Participation in activities involving human tissue requires compliance with this Human Tissue Policy.
By participating, individuals acknowledge that they have read and understood these requirements and agree to follow all applicable rules, procedures, and instructions relating to the respectful and responsible use of human tissue at Orsi Academy.
