Jonas De Vylder brings nearly 20 years of experience in fundamental and applied research on computer vision and artificial intelligence in biomedical imaging and healthcare. At Orsi Innotech, he leads the AI team, focusing on creating value for clinical end-users through applied AI innovations.
He obtained his PhD at Ghent University, where he conducted computer vision research addressing a broad range of biomedical problems, exposing him to diverse imaging modalities and medical research domains. During his postdoctoral fellowship, he investigated commercialization pathways to translate academic research into practical impact.
Before joining Orsi Innotech, Jonas spent close to a decade working within multiple incubators of a multinational Medtech company, where he specialized in transforming AI components from research prototypes into real-world clinical solutions.
