Joris is a Senior NLP Engineer focused on developing AI systems for the operating room.
He holds a Master's in Mathematical Computer Science and a PhD in Engineering, where his research centered on machine learning for biomedical computer vision, with a particular focus on training models under minimal annotation constraints. He continued this work as a postdoctoral researcher before moving into consultancy, where he applied AI solutions across a range of real-world settings.
