Orsi's top five highlights for EAU22!

Interested in what Orsi has to deliver on #EAU22?

Our experts will lead panels, participate in case discussions and debates, presenting cutting-edge scientific work & leading hands-on training and educational courses.

Hot topics as evidence-based training i.e. the proficiency-based progression (PBP) methodology & innovations in robotic surgery will be tackled.

After two years of meeting virtually, we are looking forward to enjoying Europe’s biggest urological event with colleagues & friends in person!
Don’t hesitate to reach out or visit our booth at the EAU exhibition (booth nr. D61) and hopefully see you in Amsterdam!

  • Modern education & resident's surgical training in 2022

The congress will kick off on Friday with a abstract session on modern education and resident’s surgical training in 2022.
Orsi experts Dr. Ruben De Groote & Dr. Stefano Puliatti will present their scientific work on proficiency-based robotic training in urology. Insights on the development and validation of the metric-based assessment of a robotic dissection task on an avian model & their trial that points out the efficiency & effectiveness of surgical training with a PBP-approach.

Later that day Dr. Ruben De Groote will elaborate on the need for training facilities as Orsi Academy and all the advantages & challenges this entails.

Throughout the congress, our scientific & clinical fellows Dr. Marco Paciotti, Dr. Carlo Bravi & Dr. Luca Sarchi will present their exceptional scientific research on robotic surgery in abstract sessions.

Next to that, Dr. Carlo Bravi will also engage in a debate on controversies in onco-urology and discuss if young surgeons should still be trained to open surgery in the robotic era.

  • How do we train with all this: The importance of metrics and standardisation

How to standardise training in a safe environment before trainees go to the OR?

To complete the ERUS-meeting, Prof. Anthony Gallagher, Orsi's Director of Research & Skills Development, will emphasize the importance of metrics and standardisation in a state-of-the-art lecture.

We want to lift training to a higher level with proficiency-based progression learning outside of the OR away from the human patient. When it comes to modern training & education in robotic surgery, an objective, transparant and fair methodology is a must!
