Dr. Geert Vandenbroucke

Dr. Vandenbroucke obtained his medical degree from KU Leuven, followed by a specialization in Anesthesiology at KU Leuven and Ghent University, with additional training at CHR Metz-Thionville and OLV Hospital. To complement his medical expertise, he pursued executive education at Vlerick Business School and INSEAD.

He began his career as an anesthesiologist at UZA before moving to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where he also taught at Harvard Medical School. In 1993, he returned to OLV Hospital, where he served as Operating Room Coordinator for 10 years, Chief Medical Officer for nearly a decade, and Head of Anesthesiology for 15 years. Since early 2023, he has been a full-time board member at OLV and, more recently, at AZORG.

As a co-founder and chairman of Orsi Academy, Dr. Vandenbroucke plays a key role in shaping one of the world’s leading training centers for robotic surgery. His vision and expertise continue to drive innovation in surgical education and medical technology.
